Atlas's pov
I opened my eyes and groaned, clutching my head from the pounding headache. As I tried to get up, I felt a weight on my body. It was the naked girl lying beside me. Another one-night stand, and probably another irritating argument. I left her on the bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up.
When I came back, I saw her sprawled on my bed in a seductive pose, smiling. "Good morning, handsome. Why don't I make your morning even more memorable?" she purred. I cringed slightly at her tone and replied, "Get dressed and leave, or I'll have my guards escort you out."
She looked shocked and exclaimed, "How could you say that? You're so rude!". "I've heard that before. Now leave," I replied, my tone completely uninterested.
"How can you say that after the amazing night we had?" she protested.
"Oh, darling, it was a one-time thing. There's a reason they call me a playboy," I smirked.
Fuming with anger, she grabbed her clothes and stormed into the bathroom. After a while, she came out and asked, "Can I at least have your number?". " NO", I said.
She glared at me, not saying another word, and stormed out.
I sighed, got dressed, and prepared to leave for the office.
So, let me introduce myself. My name is Atlas Sharein, 27 years old. I was born and raised in NYC with my family, which consists of my mom, Reina Sharein, my dad, Theodore Sharein, and my little sister, Shaina Sharein. They are the only people I love with all my heart, and I would do anything to protect them. We used to live together, but after I took over as CEO, I bought my own penthouse and have been living here ever since.
My mom was always worried about me, especially because she knew I had a bad habit of skipping meals. To make sure I was taken care of, she hired a housekeeper, Miss Jones, who was just like my mom and looked after my meals.
After getting ready, I came downstairs and saw Miss Jones setting breakfast on the table.
"Good morning, Miss Jones," I greeted her.
"Good morning, dear. Come on, eat up," she said with a smile.
I smiled back and started eating. Once I finished, I headed off to my office.
I walked in with my usual cold glare, watching as my employees stiffened in fear when they saw me. They greeted me nervously, and I thought to myself, That's exactly how it should be.
I don't show sympathy to anyone because, in my eyes, everyone is fake. It's a waste of time to deal with them. And love? I scoffed at the thought. All women want are two things: money and status. That's the reason I use them for my needs—nothing more.
I went into my office and settled down, calling in my assistant to give me my schedule for the day. I made sure to hire a male assistant—couldn't deal with a female one throwing herself at me and not doing any real work.
He came in with a nervous look on his face and started listing my schedule.
"Okay, you can leave," I said, but he still stood there, looking like he was about to wet his pants any second.
"What do you want?" I asked, irritated.
"S-s-sir, actually, there's been a problem in the technical department, and they want to have a meeting with you," he stammered.
"Then why are you still standing here wasting my time? Go arrange the meeting!"
"Y-y-yes, sir," he stuttered and ran out of the room.
I sighed. "Stupid people," I muttered under my breath.
I walked into the conference room, and everyone stood up to greet me, trembling with fear.
"So, what's the matter?" I asked, my voice cold.
"Sir, actually, someone has hacked into our server and destroyed important documents related to our upcoming project," one of them stammered.
"WHAT?!" I roared, my anger surging. "How could you fools let this happen?!"
I was shaking with rage.
"S-s-sorry, sir! We tried everything, but we couldn't stop it," another employee stuttered.
"Sir, may I make a suggestion?" one of my employees nervously spoke up.
"Speak," I ordered.
"Sir, we could consult the cybercrime branch. They have professional hackers who could help us."
"Fine. I'll deal with this. In the meantime, I want everyone back to work—no slacking off."
Everyone scurried out as fast as they could. I sat down and sighed.
Let's see how this goes...
